Capsule homes:
your questions answered.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to help you choose your space and plan your project in Spain. From the first idea to configuration and installation.

Choosing your space

Are capsules only for residential use?

No. Alongside residential use, we explore spaces for tourism, food and drink, sport, wellness, offices, events and site services. Your intended use shapes the layout and equipment; suitability is assessed for each project.

Where are the homes made, and which models are available?

All our capsule homes are assembled in Spain. The range includes K30, K50, K70, E30, E50, E70, D50 and D70, with reference dimensions and layouts from the QosqoCabin catalogue. Manufacturing follows the solutions agreed with the client’s architect. The proportion of imported components is small, and components requiring certification are purchased in Spain.

How do D50 and D70 differ from the other models?

D50 combines two E50 modules and D70 combines two E70 modules. Their published total areas are 25 and 50.2 m² respectively. Dimensions shown on their pages refer to one module. Arrangement and connections are defined for each project.

Layout and equipment

What materials make up a capsule home?

The QosqoCabin reference documentation describes a galvanised steel frame, aluminium exterior cladding, polyurethane insulation, a layered floor, double glazing and interior panels. Materials and thicknesses are confirmed by model. The K70 specification describes that particular configuration; its figures are not a specification for the entire range.

Materials and construction →
Can the layout be adapted to my project?

The capsule home’s layout, finishes and equipment are developed with the client’s architect. Every manufacturing project is coordinated with them to suit the intended use and applicable technical requirements. Changes and their cost are agreed before the order is confirmed.

What is included in the supply?

The K70 starting price includes a complete waterproofed bathroom, kitchen with ceramic hob and extractor, heat pump and air conditioning. For other models, check their base equipment and options. The proposal details the structure, finishes, utilities, equipment and exclusions; transport, external connections, a terrace and upgrades are specified for each project.

Can it be used throughout the year?

The manufacturer describes thermal and acoustic insulation. Year-round use needs a specification suited to the site’s climate, orientation, ventilation and heating or cooling. Energy use and comfort are assessed for that configuration; we do not publish a universal figure.

Site and connections

How is a capsule-home installation approved?

Every manufacturing project is coordinated with the client’s architect to define a solution that meets the Spanish requirements applicable to that project. Before manufacturing, the intended use, site and documentation needed for the relevant approval applications are reviewed. Approval depends on the plot’s conditions and the competent authority.

Does the site need a prepared base?

The support solution is defined for the ground conditions, model and configuration. Levelling, supports, drainage and installation access need to be agreed before delivery. We do not assume that any plot allows a capsule to be placed directly on the ground.

How are electricity, water and drainage connected?

The manufacturer describes provision for these connections. The project needs to define connection points, power requirements and routes to the capsule. Solar or off-grid solutions are considered separately and are not included by default.

Delivery and installation

How is the capsule delivered and positioned?

Delivery and positioning are planned around dimensions, weight and site access. The degree of assembly and work required on site are defined in the proposal. Any crane or other handling equipment must be confirmed; we do not promise installation without machinery.

Can you deliver to a site with difficult access?

The route and unloading point need review: width, turns, slopes, overhead clearance and manoeuvring space. Share the location, photos and, if possible, an access video. Delivery is confirmed once logistics have been assessed.

How long does a project take?

Timing depends on the model, customisation, availability, transport and site preparation. The schedule should distinguish supply, delivery, installation and utility connections. Dates are confirmed in the proposal rather than promised as a fixed number of days for every project.

05 / FORTELA HOGAR

Budget and terms

What determines the final price?

The model, finishes and equipment, as well as transport and work needed at the site. When comparing proposals, also check taxes, unloading, site preparation and utility connections. Pricing is provided for a specific configuration and scope.

What warranty and maintenance will apply?

Warranty terms should be provided in writing for the model and equipment ordered: coverage, duration, exclusions and the support process. Recommended maintenance should also be specified. Request these documents before ordering.

What information should I prepare for my project?

Include the municipality and location, intended use, number of users, preferred model or approximate area, budget and desired dates. Add access photos and any available utility information. These details help define the scope to assess.

Tourism & nature

Does catalogue capacity equal approved guest accommodation capacity?

It should not be interpreted that way. The manufacturer’s figure is a capacity reference, not tourist accommodation approval or a confirmed bed count. Project capacity is reviewed against the final layout and intended permitted use.

Can several capsules form one accommodation project?

A group of private units and shared spaces can be explored. Plan circulation, privacy, cleaning, storage and utilities for the whole site. The number of modules and their positioning are defined for the specific plot.

07 / FORTELA HOGAR

Food & wine tourism

Is a capsule kitchen suitable for professional catering?

A residential kitchen is not automatically a commercial kitchen. Define the menu, equipment, extraction, power, water and waste handling, then review the project with specialists for the intended activity.

Could it be a tasting room or sales point?

This is a use we can explore. The layout should organise customer service, display, storage and any necessary service areas. Specify whether you will prepare food, offer tastings or only sell products so equipment can be defined.

08 / FORTELA HOGAR

Sport & outdoor activities

How should wet equipment be stored?

Separate reception, clean stock and wet or used equipment. Ventilation, drying, water-resistant surfaces and drainage are assessed for the equipment involved. These adaptations need to be specified and are not assumed to be included.

Can it combine reception, rental and a workshop?

We can explore that combination based on equipment dimensions and customer flow. Prepare an inventory and a list of activities; these help determine whether one module or separate areas are suitable and assess access and working space.

09 / FORTELA HOGAR

Wellness & personal care

Can it be adapted for treatments or beauty services?

We can explore a layout with privacy, equipment space and storage. Define the treatments and needs for water, ventilation, cleaning and accessibility. Fit-out and suitability for the activity require a specific review.

Does it include a sauna, spa or gym equipment?

An example use does not mean that equipment is included. Equipment is selected for each project, checking weight, moisture, power, ventilation and service space. Compatibility needs validation before finalising the configuration.

10 / FORTELA HOGAR

Work & retail

How do I choose a capsule for an office?

Start with the number of desks, meetings and visitors. Add lighting, sockets, data, climate control, storage and privacy needs. Check the plan with actual furniture and circulation space, not just total floor area.

Can it be configured as a showroom or pop-up shop?

We can explore display areas, a counter, storage and branding. Provide product dimensions and expected visitor numbers. Displays, signage and retail fittings are defined as part of the project rather than assumed to be in the base model.

11 / FORTELA HOGAR

Events & production

Is the insulation enough for podcasts or karaoke?

The manufacturer’s insulation description does not mean a soundproof studio. Recording and music need an assessment of outside noise, sound transfer, reverberation and ventilation. Acoustic treatment and equipment are designed for the activity.

Can the module move between events?

Each relocation needs planning for weight, dimensions, access, supports and utilities. A temporary installation needs an assembly, disassembly and transport plan. Mobility does not mean that the module can be towed directly on the road.

12 / FORTELA HOGAR

Services & support

Can it be used for healthcare or children’s services?

These uses require a specific assessment. Before choosing a module, define the activity, users, staff and equipment with the responsible professional. A capsule alone does not establish suitability or authorise healthcare or children’s services.

Can accessible entry be planned?

Accessibility should be considered from the start: approach, level changes, doors, internal circulation and toilets where relevant. Not every catalogue layout meets these needs. Adaptations are checked for the model, site and intended use.

Every location and use is different. Configuration, scope of supply and terms are set out in your project proposal.
